beyond the green: collective of middlebury voices

a student-run publication that seeks to provide space for voices that are not being heard on our campus. we are grounded by politics that are radical, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-classist, anti-homophobic, anti-ableist, and anti-transphobic (against all forms of oppression) and that reject the structural neo-liberal paradigm that characterizes middlebury college and its official publications

I want to love them, and I do, but sometimes they are hard to love.

Having close friends and family members with serious mental health struggles triggers a lot of emotions for me. I can sometimes end up on an emotional roller coaster as a side effect of their emotional roller coasters, and sometimes I feel angry about that. Sometimes I feel so full of intense love and anger and hurt that I don’t know how to channel it. I want to love them, and I do, but sometimes they are hard to love. Sometimes I feel resentful about that.
