beyond the green: collective of middlebury voices

a student-run publication that seeks to provide space for voices that are not being heard on our campus. we are grounded by politics that are radical, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-classist, anti-homophobic, anti-ableist, and anti-transphobic (against all forms of oppression) and that reject the structural neo-liberal paradigm that characterizes middlebury college and its official publications

vision for btg

By: Lily Andrews

“I hope that this effort can be sustainable, and can fundamentally be a group, a community effort, rather than the stringing together of the tenaciousness of a few individuals. I envision a community borne around weekly writing gatherings that allow discussion of ideas and create a sense of true solidarity and exchange around this blog. I envision many taking ownership of this, and creating something that actually resembles a collective. This is my vision.

I hope this in light of the reality of organizing on this campus: a few meetings are big, but many times few people show up, and during finals week and midterms the group survives only because a few dedicated individuals dedicate themselves and manage to pull everything through. I want something different for beyond the green.”
