beyond the green: collective of middlebury voices

a student-run publication that seeks to provide space for voices that are not being heard on our campus. we are grounded by politics that are radical, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-classist, anti-homophobic, anti-ableist, and anti-transphobic (against all forms of oppression) and that reject the structural neo-liberal paradigm that characterizes middlebury college and its official publications

When I’m at Middlebury, even my anxiety has anxiety.

When I’m at Middlebury, even my anxiety has anxiety. And most people don’t see it, because that’s what we do, isn’t it? Pretend like we’re okay, respond with flippant ‘I’m good’s to flippant ‘how are you’s, put in ten times the effort to fake it when it feels like we’ll never make it. It only gets better when you accept it, reach out for help if you need that or reach within yourself if that’s better. Give yourself permission to not be okay. It’s the only way everyone else will allow you that too.
